Made to Fly Free invites children and parents into the tender early days of a baby robin’s life, from tiny nestling tucked safely in the nest to fledgling poised for first flight.

Through gentle, lyrical storytelling, young readers meet Little Peep as he watches, waits, grows, and practices the skills he needs before leaving the nest. The story follows the natural rhythm of development, offering a quiet reminder that growth unfolds in its own time.

Soft, expressive illustrations encourage children to linger, notice the details of creation, and return to the story again and again.

Especially suited for families who value slowing down and paying attention to creation, Made to Fly Free opens the door to meaningful conversations about growth, patience, courage, and becoming all at a pace children can understand.

Recommended for ages 3–8. Ideal for read-alouds, nature studies, and early listeners.

Made To Fly Free is a peaceful, beautifully illustrated story following a robin through themes of growth and waiting. The slow, gentle pacing makes it ideal for winding down, while the illustrations keep children engaged with the natural world. Its message emphasizes that growth takes time and unfolds naturally. A soothing read, especially for younger children. *I received a review copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Peep is a young bird who wants so desperately to fly free, high in the sky…. but not yet. His parents assure him that one day he will fly, but it is not yet time. He needs to grow and learn. The story in this book is not explicitly Christian, but the author is a Christian and states that God's intentional design is one theme of the book. The young bird learns to grow at the pace that God intends, making this an encouraging read for children who are patiently learning their identity in God. This story filled me with hope as Peep longed to fly, and I felt triumph alongside him when he finally soared. The lyrical text is pleasant to read, and the soft illustrations beautifully reflect God's creation. This is a well-crafted book that deserves a longterm home in your family. I recommend this book for children ages 3-8.
