Hey, friend! I’m Alison.

I’m a homeschooling mama of five, founder of Pathfinder Press, and author of Made to Fly Free and Baby Adventurer. For the past 17 years, I’ve been learning (and loving) the wild, grace-filled adventure of homeschooling.

Along the way, our family discovered another unexpected adventure: writing and publishing children’s books together! It began with my Baby Adventurer in 2017, followed by Hope’s Mr. Skandinoovy Takes an Exciting Trip to Florida in 2019. Since then, Hope has illustrated Stinky Stiggy and written and illustrated I Saw Bigfoot. Since then, we’ve continued learning our way through writing, illustrating, designing, and publishing our own books—including my newest picture book, Made to Fly Free. What started as a family adventure has grown into something I never really expected: the opportunity to help other authors bring their stories to life, too.

Today, Pathfinder Press is a home for wholesome, purposeful stories and the people who create them. We publish our own family’s books, encourage families to discover the joy of storytelling together, and offer Creative Services for authors who need a little help bringing their books to life.

Through Pathfinder Creative Services, I work alongside authors with things like manuscript feedback, book design and layout, print-ready files, and guidance through the publishing process. You don’t have to know how to do all of this on your own.

At the heart of it all is a simple hope: to help create stories that inspire, encourage, and impact the next generation in a way that makes Jesus smile.
